The foot area is made of dark brown crocodile. This is a wearable piece of leather art. The vamp is genuine crocodile tail in a deep espresso brown, cut so the heavy raised scutes run in ranks straight down the foot to the French toe. Rich, glossy, and full of natural relief.
The shafts are where it gets serious. Each one is hand-tooled with a complete Western town scene — a saloon and hotel on the main street, riders passing on horseback, mesa and butte country rising behind, saguaro and agave in the foreground, a fence line, and a steer skull resting in the sand. Burnished in a graduated desert sunset, from deep amber at the welt up to pale gold at the collar. The scene carries across both boots as one composition. No two pairs of tooled boots are ever alike, and this one took real bench time.
