There are custom boots ā and then there are these. Full crocodile belly in black cherry, handmade in El Paso, topped by one of the most extraordinary hand-tooled and hand-painted leather shafts ever put on a western boot. This is not decoration. This is Mexican folk art executed at the highest level of bootmaking craftsmanship, on a foundation of genuine exotic leather that would command serious money all by itself.
The shaft tells a story: a hand-tooled Aztec/Mexica sun calendar stone dominates the front panel in deep relief carving, flanked by hand-painted Quetzalcoatl ā the feathered serpent of Aztec mythology ā rendered in full color at the collar with green, red, yellow, and blue painted detail that rivals museum-quality artwork. Green quetzal feather inlays cascade down both sides of the shaft. The back panel features full-coverage floral scroll tooling. The pull strap is crocodile leather. Every single detail was done by hand.
THE BOOTS:
ā Genuine crocodile belly ā black cherry with deep burgundy-to-black high-gloss finish and prominent belly tile pattern

Crocodile belly is the most prized cut of crocodilian leather ā the smooth, flat tiles from the underside of the animal, prized for their uniformity, natural sheen, and the fact that no two hides ever look exactly alike. In black cherry, this vamp is one of the most dramatic colorways in western bootmaking. The shaft artwork elevates these from collector-grade boots to wearable fine art ā the Aztec calendar motif, Quetzalcoatl portrait, and quetzal feather inlays together represent dozens of hours of master craftsman work that simply cannot be replicated at any production price point.
These are a once-in-a-lifetime find. Buy them or spend the rest of your life wishing you had.
